About
Hi! I'm Jesse.
I have been building websites for over 18 years both professionally and as a hobby. I believe that a well structured, intuitive website can help people discover the information they are seeking more quickly and easily.
Outside of work I enjoy an expanding mix of hobbies from technology and gaming, cars, building and remodeling, to wondering about the universe and how we can go farther.

Work
University of Florida Human Resources
At UF Human Resources I maintain several websites all built in WordPress. These sites are set up as part of a WordPress Network to allow for codebase sharing and ease of updates and users are authorized through the centralized UF login service called GatorLink. Some of these websites include university benefits information, HR related training and development, and HR news.
University of Florida Benefits
University benefits can be complicated, so I worked with our benefits team to simplify the homepage. With updated benefit offerings, eligibility calculator, and integrated Salesforce contact forms, it is easier than ever for employees to get help with their benefits.
University of Florida Job Titles
UF Human Resources has always maintained a list of job titles, but never had them easily accessible for employees to view. I developed a new WordPress plugin to organize job titles, families, and competencies to help employees better understand the roles and requirements of their jobs.
University of Florida Finance and Accounting
UF’s Finance and Accounting department supports the wide fiscal responsibilities of the university. This website is built using WordPress and several plugins to support a knowledge base of fiscal information including directives and procedures used throughout the university.
University of Florida Jobs
The UF Jobs microsite leads potential applicants to either our faculty or staff job portals. Utilized as a test bed for updated design language for UF Human Resource websites several of the design choices are currently being incorporated into a new website template. The faculty job portal is built with React to load positions from Interfolio.
UF recently launched an Artifical Intelligence initiative for which I stood up a microsite aimed at promoting AI related jobs and researchers at the university. This site was quickly built off of the same template as the jobs microsite with visual changes to fit within the AI theme.
University of Florida Information Technology
The UF Information Technology website is built with the Terminalfour content management system which IT and several other departments across UF use for website management. This website uses external APIs for listing the IT services, news and alerts.
University of Florida
The main UF website is built with the Terminalfour content management system to output a performant, static website. I worked with key stakeholders including our University Relations unit to gather requirements for the website update.
University of Florida Website Template
Both the UF home page and the UF Information Technology website (among others) are built in Terminalfour using the UF 2015 template. This template was designed by an external agency and handed over to me to build within the CMS. The template was created in the CMS and documentation was written for users to reference. This template is used by half of all sites hosted within the CMS.
University of Florida News
UF’s News website is built with the Terminalfour content management system featuring a custom template to incorporate various elements the Strategic Communications and Marketing department requested.
