Toledo Free Press

The Toledo Free Press was looking for an update to their very dated site and needed something that was much more modern, informational, and had space for advertising. We brought together some of the best ideas from a variety of other news websites and created the basis of their current site.

To start we created a design and layout that was wider than their old website to be able to utilize the increased space of a modern computer screen. The design then revolved around getting as much information as possible in front of the viewer without being overwhelming. To do this we created a space for the weekly newspaper’s front cover article to be featured. Below that was a list of the five most recent articles in the main categories. This allowed for a large amount of content to be placed in a relatively small amount of space without giving a feeling of information overload.

Since the delivery of the finished website to the client in 2008 they have hired an in-house webmaster and have continued to make changes to the website that we created.

Site designed by Ryan Shull.
