Personal Identity and Logo (Part 2)

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Over the last week I have been floating ideas through my head about finally creating a personal identity and a logo to go with it. This assignment gave me the kick in the pants I needed to start the process. I went about looking for logo designs that I liked last week. I posted them to my blog and then mulled them over for a while.

I liked the grungy style of Bent Ray logo and the shape of the Sentinel logo. Looking at those I knew I wanted to come up with something with those elements but I did not want to let my mind only pull to those. So I designed a few different logos, shown below.

Logo 1
Logo 2
Logo 3
Logo 4

Of all these logos I still preferred my original idea after some modifications and tweaks. Logo 4 and logo 5 were my favorites out of all of the logos.

Portfolio Work

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Over the last few years I have designed a few websites for personal reasons. Some of these sites are CSS/HTML, some incorporate PHP and MySQL, others are Flash.

The following are websites that were created for a class years ago. Looking back at these websites I do not really know why I designed them the way they are other than that was the style of the year and what I knew how to do. These are by no means the best websites ever, rather just a view of some of my past experience in web design and production.

The following are some of the websites that I have worked on during my co-ops at Insight Advertising. (Some of these websites are not live yet)

I have even more work in the pipes that will be going live over the next few months and I will be posting those to this site.

Personal Identity and Logo

Friday, January 25th, 2008

Coming up with a personal identity can be tricky business. First of all you need something original and at the same time it has to be able to identify you. The first place to start is to find some logo designs that you like and begin to incorporate those elements into some preliminary design ideas for your own personal logo.

To begin with I have compiled a small list of logos that have elements that I like and think have aesthetic value.

So I am going to pull some design elements from some of these logos to use and create my own personal logo and identity.

This is a very cool video about how camera lenses are made. I have always been fascinated with how things are made so I found this quite amazing. Enjoy!
